Background
The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) is dedicated to being the builder and steward of the heritage assets of America’s Capitol while serving Congress and the Supreme Court. AOC works tirelessly with ingenuity and craftsmanship to maintain the historic fabric found throughout the Capitol buildings and grounds. The manual contains policies, procedures, and practices for use in conducting studies and completing Architect-Engineer tasks in support of design and construction projects across AOC's facilities. It also includes an updated library of checklists, templates, and tools to assist project managers, in-house designers, and contracted AlEs in completing quality, complete design and study packages for AOC projects.

Work Details
The contractor shall utilize previously developed planning documents as a baseline to develop executable architectural plan/construction documents, a building schedule, and cost estimates for building the new spaces. The key changes in the manual include combining the contents of the AOC Pre-Design Manual and AlE Design Manual into one guide, adding specificity to requirements for drawings, project manuals, and deliverables, requiring electronic files be submitted with every design deliverable set to allow for future paperless document review.
